Jack is a Scottish Chartered Accountant with a masters degree in economics. Prior to working in the social housing sector he was the finance director and treasurer for two American banks based in London.
After 20 years as CFO and Deputy Chief Executive of Thames Valley Housing he stepped back from full time executive roles in 2015. Prior to 2015 he chaired for seven years the NHF committee responsible for interpreting the accounting rules for the social housing sector. Since 2015 he has been a non-executive director of a number of Housing Associations, acting as senior independant director in one, deputy Chair in two others, and chair of the audit and risk committees of several of them. In this period he was also the independant member of the NHF’s Audit and Risk committee.
Currently he is a board member of three housing association, one of which he chairs, and chairs a furniture recycling charity. In his private life he was for 10 years chair of governors of a secondary school in London and chair of a homelessness charity for a similar period.
