Continued compliance with regulatory framework

Notting Hill Genesis’s G1 and V2 ratings for regulatory governance and viability standards were confirmed as unchanged in a strapline regulatory judgement published by the Regulator of Social Housing yesterday.

The ratings mean that we remain compliant with both the governance and financial viability standards of the national regulatory framework.

The regulator’s refreshed assessment reflects the strength of our business plan, the security we have in place and our ability to meet financial covenants even under a range of adverse scenarios.

The regulator also remains assured that our governance arrangements enable us to adequately manage the organisation and continue meeting our objectives.

Robust financial and governance frameworks are core to our ability to work better together for our residents, ensuring that we can make improvements to existing homes and build new housing, and that we do so in a fair and transparent manner.

From April 2024, our compliance will additionally be judged against a new set of consumer standards, where we will need to demonstrate how we are meeting those expectations and working in line with the associated code of practice.

The consumer standards are part of the Social Housing Regulation Act, which is aimed at improving the regulation of social housing, strengthening tenants’ rights and ensuring better quality and safer homes.

Their scope is largely reflected in our Better Together strategy, which is also focused on improving relationships with and services for our residents and ensuring they have safe, warm and comfortable homes where they can enjoy their lives.
