Patrick Franco is stepping down from his role as CEO at Notting Hill Genesis (“the Group”), one of London’s largest not-for-profit housing associations, with immediate effect. He will be replaced by Helen Evans as interim CEO for a 12 month period while a permanent successor is recruited.
Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of the NHG Board, said: “We are grateful to Patrick for his dedication and leadership during his four years at NHG. He has led the organisation to progress on our transformation journey, in an extremely challenging operating environment. Under his tenure we have strengthened governance and made progress towards returning to regulatory compliance, alongside making important safety and compliance improvements in our homes. He has overseen a simplification of the Group and our commitment to deploy significant capital, £1bn over the next ten years, into our existing homes and building safety. We wish him all the best for the future.
“Helen Evans will be joining as interim CEO, and will start in post immediately. Helen has decades of experience in social housing in London and the South of England, is a former Chair of the G15 and was CEO of Network Homes for 12 years. She has a passion for social housing and for the social purpose of NHG.
“NHG will remain true to its social purpose, mission and strategy – to provide safe, quality homes for people who would otherwise struggle to afford them, and to contribute to a fairer London where everyone has a place to call home. Our commitment to improving our performance and meeting our customers’ and regulator’s expectations remain unchanged.”
Patrick Franco commented: “It has been a tremendous privilege to lead NHG and play a role in advancing its purpose, to provide affordable housing to some of society’s most vulnerable people. It has been a challenging period for the whole sector, including NHG, as it grapples with the cost of living and the vital work of improving building safety. I am pleased to be leaving an organisation which, through the action we have taken, is now simpler, more resident focussed and clearer about its priorities. I am confident that the actions we have taken will deliver consistently high quality accommodation for our residents. We have a clear plan to regain regulatory compliance and are making good progress towards this. Finally, I would like to thank my colleagues for their unwavering dedication and commitment and wish them well as they continue to progress our vital mission.”
